Welcome to The Firline

A wedding that feels like a storybook.

Your guests arrive through a grove of redcedars, and you say your vows facing the mountains. Then everyone crosses a row of string-lit alders to dinner under the tent. At golden hour, slip away down an old logging road to Elderwood, a meadow of cedar stumps that loggers felled by hand in the early 1900s.

Elk Meadow

A short row of alders splits this wide summer meadow in two. Vows happen on the west side, where the mountain view is best. Dinner and dancing happen on the east side, under the tent.

At dusk the alder row lights up with string lights, and your guests walk through it from the ceremony to the reception.

  • Ceremony platform facing the mountains
  • Reception tent, about 40 × 60 ft
  • String-lit alder row
  • Tipis for getting ready
  • Parking at the meadow's edge

Portraits & intimate vows

Elderwood

A hidden meadow of giant redcedar stumps. Loggers felled the trees by hand in the early 1900s, standing on springboards wedged into notches. You can still see the notches today.

No cars ever come here. You reach it on foot along The Understory, about a 10-minute walk, so it stays the quietest place on the property.

  • Golden-hour portraits
  • Elopements & small vows
  • About a 10-minute walk
  • No vehicles, ever

Good to know

Questions, answered.

Where is The Firline?

Off Pleasant Valley Road outside Mineral, Washington, between Mount Rainier and the lakes. It's about two hours from Seattle, a little more from Portland, and about 30 minutes from Mount Rainier's Nisqually entrance. See the map.

How many guests can you host?

Up to about 100 guests fit comfortably in the meadow and under the reception tent. If your group is larger, ask us and we'll talk it through.

What happens if it rains?

The reception tent is the rain plan. About 7–10 days before your date, we'll make a weather call with you and your planner and set the plan.

Is there power, water and restrooms?

The Firline is off-grid. We bring in power, water and a luxury restroom trailer for every event, so you get the comforts without anything built on the meadow.

How do we get to Elderwood?

On foot. It's about a 10-minute walk along The Understory, and no vehicles go there. Most couples go for portraits or a few quiet minutes. It also suits very small vows and elopements.

Can guests stay on the property?

Not in 2027. Our Lantern Cabins and Moon Domes open in 2028 (see the stays). For 2027 weddings, guests can book inns, cabins and vacation rentals in nearby Mineral, Ashford, Eatonville, Morton and Packwood.

Are weekday dates available?

Yes. Our founding 2027 rates include discounts on weekdays and Sundays.

Can we visit before booking?

Yes. Site walks are free for couples and planners. Choose “Book a site walk” on the form below and we'll find a time.
